Do I need my own gear?
Whatever you need to stay warm, dry, hydrated, and satiated is all I require of you. This usually means breathable layers, waders, puffer jacket, and Gortex jacket as well as a decent lunch and water. You are welcome to fish your own gear if we chat ahead of time, fly anglers are encouraged to bring their own rods, reels, lines as that is often more specified. A WDFW FISHING LICENSE IS REQUIRED.
FAQs
What boat am I fishing in?
We will be in a 16’ 2010 ClackaCraft Drift Boat that can comfortably fish 3 anglers. Single anglers can opt for a raft float in my 9’ CatcherCraft, self-bailing, framed raft (or if conditions require it). This raft can access any water you wish to seek.
What forms of payment do you take?
Cash is king, Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay.
Where is Jakob in June, July, and August?
I am guiding on the Lower Kanektok River in Alaska for Duncan and Sons at their Lower Base Camp. If you are trying to reach me by phone during the summer you will probably reach my voicemail. It is best to text, email, DM, or Messenger if you have questions or are interested in upcoming dates.
Why do you require a deposit?
When you book a date we have already chatted and I have started putting effort into providing the best possible angling experience for you. This means that date is not available for someone else interested in getting out. Things can happen in life as well as volatile weather, we will work together if weather is an issue in the days leading up to our trip and I will try and work with individuals in non-weather related circumstances. The expectation is we will reschedule either way, this is a common practice in this industry!
